One person was stabbed in the early hours of the morning in south Auckland.
Emergency services - including four ambulances and more than 10 police vehicles - were called to Goh Place, Manurewa, just after
3.40am.
It is understood an arrest was made a short time later, but police would not confirm.
The victim was taken to Middlemore Hospital with minor injuries, St John Ambulance said.
Police shift inspector Cornell Klussein said he understood it was a minor domestic incident where a person was "nicked" with a knife.
"Ambulance might call it a stabbing but by the sounds of it...it was just a nick. It wasn't a criminal thing but a domestic where someone held a knife and during the push and shove they accidentally 'nicked' the other person," he said.
Police would not confirm whether the incident was related to a shooting between rival gangs in East Auckland on Saturday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Ellwood said police were called to the Palm Bar in Highland Park about 2am after reports a man had been shot.
The man was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries but was in a stable condition on Saturday.
