Reach Oxford Scholarships for Developing Country Students

Brief description:
A number of Oxford colleges offer Reach Oxford Scholarships (formerly Oxford Student Scholarships) to students from developing countries who, for political or financial reasons, or because equivalent educational facilities do not exist, cannot study for a degree in their own countries.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
Tuition fees and college fees, a grant for living expenses and one return air fare per year. The scholarship duration is 3 or 4 years depending on course length.
Eligibility:
This scheme is only suitable for candidates who have received an offer and who are of the highest academic ability. Financial need and social commitment are also major criteria for selection. Applicants should be intending to return to their country of ordinary residence following their studies. Priority will be given to students who have not studied at undergraduate level before.
Application instructions:
Applications are due to open in mid-January 2016 for those with an offer to study at Oxford from October 2016. The application form and guidance will be available from the official website.
To be considered for the scholarship, you must have made an application to the University through UCAS by 15 October 2015 and been successful in gaining a place. You will then need to complete a separate scholarship application form. Applications must be submitted by 12 noon (UK time) on Friday 19 February 2016.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships for International Students

You can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if you are:
•  a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom.
•  applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study: PhD (three year research-only degree); MSc or MLitt (two year research-only degree); or a one year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA etc.)
If you are a current student at Cambridge and are applying for a new postgraduate course, you can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Current Gates Cambridge Scholars may also apply for a second scholarship if they are applying for a new degree.
Application instructions:
It is not possible to apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship without applying to the University of Cambridge. You must apply for admission as a postgraduate student to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship at the same time. Applicants apply on a single form for admission to a course and a College and for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. The deadline for applications is 2 December 2015 for citizens other than the US and 14 October 2015 for US citizens.

Clarendon Fund Scholarships at University of Oxford

The Clarendon Fund is a major graduate scholarship scheme at the University of Oxford, offering around 140 new scholarships every year. Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at graduate level at the University of Oxford.

All Clarendon Scholarships cover tuition and college fees in full and a generous annual grant for living costs, which is normally sufficient to cover the living costs of a single student living in Oxford.
The scholarships are normally offered for the full period for which you are liable to pay tuition fees to the University, which is usually the same as the length of your course.
Eligibility/Selection Criteria:
Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic merit and potential to graduate students from all around the world. Scholarships are tenable in all subject areas and are open to candidates who apply for a new master’s or DPhil course by the January admissions deadline.
Application instructions:
If you apply for a full- or part-time master’s or DPhil course at Oxford by the January deadline for your course, you will automatically be considered for a Clarendon Scholarship. You do not need to submit any additional documents specifically for the Clarendon Scholarships – there is no separate scholarship application form.   You do, however, need to apply by the January application deadline for your course in order to be considered for the scholarship.  Applications for entry in 2016-17 can be submitted from 1 September 2015.

Kofi Annan MBA Scholarships for Developing Country Students

The Kofi Annan Business School Foundation provides fellowships for talented and motivated students from developing countries that allow them to obtain a one-year full-time MBA degree at ESMT.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
A Kofi Annan Fellowship for an MBA student has a value of € 58,000 and covers full tuition fees and course materials in addition to a living stipend of € 1,000 per month for the duration of the MBA program. The fellowship also covers one round-trip plane ticket to Berlin from the Fellow’s home.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be resident in one of the UN’s Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) or Palestine.  Applications are encouraged from candidates who hold at least a bachelor’s degree from any academic discipline and demonstrate three years of post-graduate professional experience. All applicants are required to take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) before gaining admission to the ESMT Full-time MBA program.
After graduation, Fellows are expected to commit to returning to their home countries or regions to participate for at least three years in the development of the local or regional economy.
Application instructions:
Fellowships can be awarded only after a candidate has been admitted to the ESMT MBA program.  Applications are only accepted online via ESMT’s website. Potential applicants may also submit a CV for a preliminary check to determine whether they are eligible to apply. The application deadline for the MBA is 30 September 2015.
