Boko Haram attacks village near army chief’s town

Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a village near the home of the Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, south of Borno, security sources said.
The terrorists who were apparently fleeing military onslaught around the area weekend struck at Bam village, some 7 kilometres to Buratai, home of the
army chief which has also experienced similar attacks in the past, one of the sources said.
A fleeing resident presently taking refuge at Miringa around the area, Mustapha Aliyu said on phone he fled the area when the insurgents threw explosion into the village, forcing others to run for their life.
He said some residents died in the attack though he could not confirm the casualty figure of the victims. He also claimed the insurgents abducted some girls and thereafter set the village ablaze.
The attack came barely a day after some insurgents invaded Gajiganna village in Magumeri Local government, about 40 kilometres to Maiduguri, the state capital where they reportedly carted away foodstuffs and other household items.
